San Dimas is well known as the home for the Raging Waters Theme Park Water. There are many who appreciate San Dimas as the hometown of the fictional characters, William “Bill” S. Preston Esq.and Theodore “Ted” Logan from the movie, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It’s cool to know SunkistⓇ name originated here. San Dimas has about 35,000 people and approximately thirty miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
From a railroad town in 1887, San Dimas evolved into an agricultural community and this industry faded and finally disappeared in the mid-1900s due to increasing development in San Dimas. After adjacent communities started annexing pieces of San Dimas in the late 1950s, it incorporated as a city in 1960. Today, conscious of its heritage, San Dimas maintains an early western look in its downtown area, complete with wooden sidewalks and old-fashioned western storefronts.
